His name shows up a lot in our magazine, and for good reason. Rugby, VA’s Wayne Henderson is not only one of the world’s greatest acoustic guitar builders, he’s also one of the best players. With that in mind, we flew Henderson out to our Fretboard Journal anniversary celebration and had him play a concert for our readers on November 5, 2010.

Here, for your eyes only, is an outtake of Henderson playing “Sally Anne” on a guitar he finished just a few days prior to this performance. The location was backstage at the Rendezvous in Seattle at our FJ party on November 4. The footage is shaky, it’s not lit very well and Henderson even gets cut off before the tune is done… but the playing still comes through in spades. Enjoy.
