Rachael & Vilray perform “Nosotros,” one of the many highlights from their 2019 self-titled album, at the Fretboard Journal.

Rachael is, of course, Rachael Price from Lake Street Dive. Vilray is a New York-based composer and guitarist thoroughly steeped in music from the 1930s and 1940s. “Nosotros,” penned by Pedro Junco, dates from the early 1940s.

Gear-wise, Vilray is using his 1985 Squier Telecaster with Fralin pickups going into the Fretboard Journal‘s ’48 Gibson GA-50T. The duo’s microphone is even older still, a 1940 RCA 44A ribbon mic.
