Brooks Robertson is a rising star in the world of Chet Atkins-style fingerpicking. When he visited the FJ’s offices on December 15, 2013, the Portland, Oregon guitar phenom performed two tunes for our cameras. The first was “Jonesin’”, an original composition he wrote as a tribute to Buster B. Jones. The second is this gorgeous take on “The Mountains of Illinois,” a tune co-written by Chet Atkins and Pat Bergeson. Often played by Tommy Emmanuel, it’s great to hear Robertson’s unique spin on this composition (and just check out that intro).
