Becca Stevens’ trademark blend of jazz and folk, honed over a handful of solo releases and numerous collaborations with artists like David Crosby and Snarky Puppy, took a decidedly romantic turn on her 2017 release, Regina. The recording is notable for its lush production, but we were enchanted by this version of “Both Still Here” that Becca performed solo, accompanying herself on her Bolivian-made charango when she swung by the office. That charango, beautiful as it is, has been through the ringer and has essentially been rebuilt – note the scars of a significant repair to the top in the gallery below…
