On March 27, 2018, the Fretboard Journal will be in Austin, Texas for one of our most ambitious reader gatherings to date. Join us for an evening of live music, readings from the magazine, in-person interviews, prizes and more.
Numerous guitar and instrument building friends will be on-hand, including the people behind Calton Cases, Collings Guitars & Mandolins, Cardinal Instruments, Ellis Mandolins and others.
Over the course of the night, we’ll hear live music from Anthony da Costa, Redd Volkaert, Paul Glasse, Raina Rose and perhaps a surprise guest or two, plus a few readings from the magazine’s contributors (including the FJ‘s Jason Verlinde and Texas’ own Nathaniel Riverhorse Nakadate)… Essentially, for four hours, we’ll be bringing our magazine to life.
Spouses, kids and friends welcome.
Admission is free (a thank you for supporting us over the years) but we do have a suggested donation of $10 that will go towards a pretty great charity raffle to benefit HAAM (Health Alliance for Austin Musicians). We’ll also be selling additional raffle tickets if you want to up your odds. Among the items we’ll be giving away: A Waterloo WL-12, a Calton Case, a PLEK setup from Straight Frets Guitar Service and more.
