If you’re looking for a fancy, multipage media kit filled with demographic information and pie charts, you’ve come to the wrong place.
Our unique magazine runs a limited amount of advertising in each issue, first-come, first-served. In turn, we devote our resources (even our Venn diagram department!) towards the publication itself and our products. The Fretboard Journal is a premium magazine that looks and feels like no other … with limited advertising.
Some facts:
We were targeted advertising long before Facebook existed: Our readership lives-and-breathes musical instruments and is full of proven, rabid buyers.
We have limited full page and quarter page ads in each 128 page print issue. 90% of our advertisers run their ads in perpetuity, locking in their position in the magazine. As a reader-supported publication, we limit our advertising to the front and back sections of the book. There are a select number of quarter page ads in the back that we reserve for small luthiers and independent guitar shops.
Podcasts: To complement our print magazine, we have produced the largest network of podcasts catering to musical instrument enthusiasts in existence. Whether you want to target electric guitar fanatics, modern luthier-built acoustics or all points in-between, we have a show for you.
Our readers love our unique format, over 92% keep each issue and never throw them away. Old, out-of-print issues of the magazine have sold for ridiculous amounts of money on eBay (as much as $200 for our first issue alone), proof that this keepsake publication is truly “evergreen.”
If you want to talk to us about getting on the wait list for advertising in the magazine—or if you’re interested in sponsoring any of events, our podcasts, or forthcoming digital endeavors—just drop a note to our publisher, Jason Verlinde. We’d love to talk to you.
