On January 22, 2014, our Southern California subscribers and contributors gathered to celebrate the launch of our 31st issue and the guitar artistry of luthier of Danny Ferrington. Ferrington is the subject of a lengthy feature in the issue of the magazine, penned by Adam Levy and photographed by Reuben Cox.

As with most FJ reader meetups, it was an evening filled with music and guitar talk. Numerous Ferrington instruments were on display for participants to try out. We were also treated to music performances by Dylan Gardner, Taylor Locke and the one-and-only Jackson Browne (performing Warren Zevon’s “Carmelita” with Adam Levy on guitar and Ferrington himself on mandolin).
