    Great choice of song.

    I used to live in Winnipeg where the mighty Red River meets the Assiniboine, and heads northward to Hudson’s Bay.

    This song, Red River Valley, is quite well-known. I remember talking to a Chinese woman about ten years ago. I told her I was Canadian. She immediately referred to this song, and started to sing it.

    Perhaps more Chinese students know this song (comparatively whatever which way) than Canadian students.

    Whatever happened to the “Humanisitic Tradition and Eventual World Peace Through the Study and Sharing of Folk Music” curriculum?

    Does anyone know of any organizations that are trying to head in that general direction?
