You should head over to Frank Ford’s Frets.com to check out these photos of a heavily modifed 1838 Martin guitar. “But that’s a photo of a Tilton guitar you have there on the left,” some of you are probably saying. Well, head on over and see what kind of custom work people got up to back in the olden days. I’ve seen a lot of antique guitars in my day, including a few Martins from the 1830s, but I’ve never seen anything quite like this. -MJS
