Updates for Issue 1: Skip Heller
January 14th, 2006
Skip Heller, who was profiled in Issue 1, has a website that links to his Live Journal. Along with being a fine guitarist, Skip is an excellent writer and his posts offer a rare glimpse into the life of a working musician. Also, pay attention to his links. He has a fabulous collection of old film clips, including the only known clip of Patience and Prudence singing “You Belong to Me” (the uke folks out there will know why this is cool) and a stunning dance routine by the Nicholas Brothers that will make your day better for having seen it. If Skip says something is worth checking out, it really is. I’m not going to link to the clips, but will instead suggest that you go to Skip’s site and find them yourselves. You’ll turn up so much other good stuff looking for them, you’ll be happy you made the effort. -MJS
